Description	Aortic Stenosis is a condition that is often seen in the later years of people’s lives. The most common cause is a build-up of calcium on the leaflets of the aortic valve. Other causes can be birth defects where babies are born with two leaflets instead of three in their aortic valve, Rheumatic fever can damage the leaflets also, resulting in a damaged aortic valve. Some patients who have had radiation therapy may also develop aortic stenosis.
